About Marvin Nygaard
Professional Real Estate experience in Calgary!
I was born in rural Saskatchewan, where I worked on my family’s farm for my formative years. I gained an insight into what hard work was, and I adopted the characteristic of working hard to achieve my goals. My parents taught me many things, but the thing that stuck with me the most was that I treat everyone I meet with respect and acceptance.
I went to the University of Saskatchewan, where I earned my degrees in math and science. I wanted to do something that would help society, so I became a high school teacher. These years allowed me to enrich the lives of many young people through chemistry, physics, and mathematics. I met my wife in that rural Saskatchewan school. I then moved to a community college, and then onto Calgary’s Sir Winston Churchill High School, where I became the Science Department Head.
To expand my career, I enrolled in the University of Calgary and earned my M. Ed. and Ph. D. and then joined my wife in her life as a REALTOR®. My wife’s recommendation that I join the Calgary Real Estate Board has led me to where I stand today. That was more than 30 years ago. I have the diverse experience to back it up now. I have numerous achievement awards for my lifelong work, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Calgary Board of Education and the RE/MAX® International Hall of Fame.
